Charleston/Savannah Itinerary:
Day 1: Charleston
Check in to The Mills House Wyndham Grand Hotel
Lunch at the Blind Tiger Pub
Things to do/see today:
- THE BATTERY
- CHARLESTON WATERFRONT PARK
- White Point Garden Park
Dinner at Magnolias (make a reservation)
Day 2: Charleston
Morning things to do/see:
- Historic Charleston City Market
- King Street
Lunch at Hominy Grill
Afternoon things to do/see:
Dinner at Poogan’s porch (make a reservation)
Day 3: Charleston/Savannah
Pickup rental car
Drive to & visit Magnolia Plantation & Gardens 9:45-11:15
Drive to & visit Middleton place 11:30-12:30ish
LUNCH at Middleton Place OR at Charleston Crab House-James Island
Drive to & explore the Angel Oak Tree (my favorite thing to see)
Drive to Savannah 3:00-5:00
Check-in to hotel at 5:00 – Homewood Suites by Hilton
Leopold’s ice cream for a snack
Dinner The Olde Pink House (make a reservation WELL in advance)
Day 4: Savannah
Morning things to do/see:
- Walk down Riverstreet
- Walking Tour of the Historic District
Lunch: Vic’s on the River
Leopold’s ice cream again (trust me on this!)
Things to do after lunch:
- Wormsloe Historic Site – leisurely stroll and pictures
- Tour of Bonaventure Cemetery
- Riverboat sightseeing cruise
Dinner at Husk
After dinner do a ghost tour of Savannah! (you can move this to any night)
Day 5: Savannah
Morning things to do/see
Brunch at 700 Drayton
After brunch things to do/see:
- Drive out to Hilton Head (you could spend a whole day or a few hours here)
- Drive to Tybee Island and walk on the beach (you could spend a whole day or an hour here)
Late Dinner at 39 Rue de Jean
Day 6: Savannah/Drive back to Charleston
Pie Society for brunch (open at 10 so it depends on your return home)
Drive back to Charleston (you can fly out of Savannah but no on Southwest Airlines)
Return rental car
Fly home
